Varieties

Our chestnuts are exported to France, Great Britain, Belgium, Italy and The Netherlands, very discerning markets in which the quality and speed of delivery of the product have been recognised. Years of experience allow us to offer a quality fruit, of great health and nutritional value. The chestnuts are presented in 5 kilogramme sacks of differing calibres (2A, 3A, and 5A)

Properties and Benefits

The high carbohydrate content make chestnuts a great muscle tonic in cases of convalescence or after demanding physical exercise. They are especially recommended for sports people.

They also possess galactogen properties for which they are very useful to women who are breastfeeding, as apart from improving the recovery of women after giving birth, they also increase the production of breast milk. They are also used in the treatment of varicose veins and haemorrhoids by acting as a vascular tonic.

Preparation

Chestnuts are much appreciated in haute cuisine, being used as the raw material for exquisite dishes. They can be used as garnishes either roasted or as a puree. They are also used to prepare one of the most esteemed desserts, considered a delicacy in many countries: Marron Glacé or candied chestnuts.
